Teaching our children about the how to look after and protect the world they live in is really important to our school. We’re really proud that in 2014/15 the school was part of the national Solar Schools programme run by environmental charity 2010, and our Home School Association raised over £10,000 to install solar panels on the school roof. On the foundation stage roof, they can only be seen from the window of the hall, but they capture energy for the school every day, reducing the school’s carbon footprint and raising money for enrichment activities and equipment for the children. We monitor the energy saved and display it on the monitor you can see in reception. We are grateful to the Naturesave Trust for part-funding our panels.
